From steel production to recycling to mining to food production, reliably moving dry bulk materials out of hoppers is critical to keeping production lines running. Single mass electromechanical vibratory pan feeders provide reliable maintenance free service ensuring your production stays up and running.
What is a Single Mass Electromechanical Vibratory Pan Feeder?
An electromechanical feeder’s primary function is to regulate feed rates of dry bulk material flowing out of hoppers at precise volumetric rates. Single mass electromechanical feeders utilize single mass technology, in which the feeder is driven by two electromechanical unbalanced motors mounted directly to the feeder body, also known as the saddle. The single mass technology eliminates the need for exciter springs or natural frequency tuning for generating the required peak to peak movement of two mass feeders that are commonplace in the North American market. These feeders are also designed specifically for the application and work envelope requirements, with achievable capacities up to 4000 TPH. Each feeder is controlled by a variable frequency drive (VFD) for simple and reliable feed rate adjustability.
Benefits of Single Mass Electromechanical Pan Feeders:
Customizable to Your Process: Electromechanical vibratory feeders are available in many different pan configurations and materials of construction including light duty arrangements, heavy duty arrangements, and everything in between.
Less Sensitive to Material Changes: Single mass technology eliminates sensitivity to material changes such as moisture content, which will tend to stick the pan and add weight to the overall vibrating mass. The single mass feeders are not tuned to a natural frequency keeping their stroke consistent and not putting additional stress on the feeder pan which can cause structural damage if left in this condition. This gives them a significant advantage in applications were the bulk material is exposed to the elements and subject to moisture changes.
Enhanced Feed Rate Adjustability: Single mass electromechanical feeder do not require natural frequency tuning and are able to be adjusted across are wider frequency rate than a two mass design can. This equates to greater turndown, feed rate adjustability, and process flexibility through a standard variable frequency drive.
Where Are They Utilized?
Electromechanical feeders are widely used in various applications including discharging truck dump stations, rail car hoppers, surge tunnel feeders, conveying material up to 30 feet and spreading material across widths up to 10 feet onto downstream crushers, mixers, screeners or dryers. Single mass electromechanical vibratory pan feeders provide reliable and maintenance-free service for dry bulk material processing.
